The Motorcycle Showroom,
15 – 19 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3PY
Preview Thursday 5th May, 7 – 10pm

Open: 6th May 2011 – 22nd May 2011
Thursday to Friday 16.30 -19.30 and Saturday to Sunday 13.00 – 19.00 or by appointment.

What will we do when is a site-specific installation that explores the relationship between architecture, collaboration and curation.

Based on the aesthetic of manmade structures within national parks, this exhibition invites the audience to travel along a purpose built structure designed by Jo Lathwood. The installation contains over 70 metres of wooden slatted pathway that weaves within a 10m by 25m by 3.6m space. Through collaboration with Lathwood, 9 artists showcase new works in reaction to the structure and space.

Each artist’s work has affected the aesthetic and layout of the structure and therefore created an exhibition that is neither a collaboration or a group show but a different format of exhibition that lies somewhere between these two expected modes.

Joe Evans / Emma Jean Kemp / Katie Le Feuvre / Jo Lathwood / Jugovic / Rob Peaav / Sam Playford-Greenwell / Haywood Slucutt / Toni Van Veelan / Joe Watts

Lighting design: Anna Barrett
